Sep 24, 2026Air bagsSince January 2025, the front passenger occupant-classification system on my 2024 Mercedes-Benz EQE 350 intermittently fails to detect a properly seated adult occupant and instead displays "Passenger Airbag Disabled" on the instrument cluster. When this occurs, the system misclassifies an occupied seat as empty/child and deactivates the front passenger airbag — meaning the airbag would not deploy for that occupant in a crash. I have presented the vehicle to Mercedes-Benz of Chantilly five times for this defect: - Jan 8–14, 2025 (RO 268946, 4,459 mi) — technician performed a zero-setting recal…

Jul 6, 2026VisibilityThe contact owns a 2024 Mercedes-Benz EQE 350+. The contact stated that while her husband was driving at 75 MPH, the panoramic sunroof suddenly shattered without warning, producing a loud booming sound. The contact's husband pulled over and inspected the vehicle before driving back to the residence. There were no other vehicles or objects nearby to cause external impact. The vehicle was taken to a dealer, where a repair estimate was provided. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 37,000.
Jun 3, 2026Service brakes, Forward collision avoidanceComponent/system that malfunctioned: The braking and acceleration system, including the collision assistance (driver-assistance/automatic braking) feature. The vehicle is available for inspection upon request. How safety was put at risk: The car lags when braking and at times accelerates unexpectedly. On one occasion, the collision assistance system—which is designed to brake—instead caused the vehicle to accelerate. The most dangerous incident occurred when the car accelerated on its own into an intersection, nearly causing a collision. Reproduced/confirmed by a dealer or service center: The…
Apr 30, 2026Unknown or otherI was driving and the sunroof spontaneously shattered. There was no rock damage.
Feb 25, 2026Unknown or other, Service brakes, Lane departureThe vehicle stopped twice while being driven, with no apparent cause.
Feb 15, 2026Electrical system, Exterior lighting, Service brakesThe vehicle experienced repeated electrical wiring harness damage in the lighting, tire and connector areas due to exposed and insufficiently protected wiring near socket terminations. On two separate service visits, authorized dealership technicians confirmed that rodents chewed through multiple exposed wires. The affected wiring involves critical electrical systems. The connectors lack adequate shielding, loom, or protective insulation at exposed termination points. The insulation ends before the connector, leaving conductors vulnerable to environmental exposure and rodent access. Warning…
Jan 14, 2026Unknown or otherWhile driving at freeway speed under clear weather conditions with no traffic or debris, the panoramic glass roof on my 2024 Mercedes-Benz AMG EQE SUV suddenly shattered without warning. There was no impact or external cause. The glass appeared to explode from the inside out and fell into the vehicle, creating a serious safety hazard. The dealer denied warranty coverage and stated it was not a manufacturing issue, requiring me to file the repair through my own insurance.
